Make Sure/ Ensure
สำหรับคำว่า Make Sure/ Ensure ต่างก็มีความหมายว่า ตรวจสอบให้แน่ใจ หรือทำให้แน่ใจ ถึงแม้ว่าจะมีความหมายที่ไม่แตกต่างกัน แต่ในระดับภาษาและการนำมาใช้งานนั้นมีความแตกต่างกัน
โดยที่ Ensure เป็นคำที่ทางการกว่า Make Sure ดังนั้นจึงถูกนำมาใช้ในงานด้านบทความมากกว่า เช่น งานที่มีความเกี่ยวข้องกับการติดต่อสื่อสารทางธุรกิจและการสื่อสารที่เป็นทางการ ส่วนคำว่า Make Sure จะถูกนำมาใช้ในการพูดมากกว่าการเขียนเป็นบทความ

Ensure : Please ensure we have enough copies of the report for everyone in the meeting.

Make it a point / Make a point of
คำว่า Make it a point มีความหมายว่า ทำให้เป็นประเด็น หรือทำบางสิ่งบางอย่างให้เป็นจุดสนใจ โดยที่สำนวน Make it a point นั้นจะตามด้วย to+verb เสมอ ส่วนสำนวน Make a point of จะถูกนำมาใช้ไม่บ่อยมากนัก ถึงแม้จะมีความหมายเดียวกับ Make it a point แต่จะอยู่ในรูปประโยคที่แตกต่างกัน โดยที่ Make a point of จะตามด้วย verb เติม ing
ตัวอย่างการใช้
Make it a point : I make it a point to treat all my employees fairly.
Make a point of : I consciously and deliberately take this action.
Make it a point : She made a point of inviting the entire family to the party.
Make a point of : She deliberately invited everyone because others might think badly of her if she excluded some people from the invitation.
